Gallery–Introduction to Boxes
It turns out that virtually all of my work ends up being a box, that
is, a container with a lid, so these arbitrary divisions into styles other
than boxes are mostly a matter of convenience. The boxes shown in this
section differ from the larger hollow vessels and urns in that they are
smaller in size, being at the most 3-4" in diameter and usually cylindrical
in body shape. Some of the designs have architectural features, with interior
volumes being more nearly as tall as they are round, and having lids that
are dome or pagoda shaped. Others are more like traditional snuff boxes,
being cylindrical, flat disc shapes, usually decorated with rose engine
patterns. Click an image to see more.
