Ivoroid "Indian Dome"  Box

Box of Ivoroid, a polyester resin substitute for elephant ivory.  This box was designed to give a sense of the architecture of India. The base is cut with dentil molding above and below the field of pattern is cut with a V-bit into a delicate expanded diamond matrix design. The finial has blackwood in the cutouts and is shaped in a crown form. See detail.
